Through the Grid: Handwoven Tapestry
These limited edition weavings are part of a new series designed by Ibu Textiles. Inspired by the grid layout of New York City, warm colors were intentionally used to represent the calm that can be found in the craziness of a city. Each piece was woven with great detail on a frame loom using linen, cotton, metallic thread and Habu merino wool. It can be displayed on a wall and makes for a distinct alternative to a 2-dimensional print or painting.

How it’s made:
Step 1: Prepare the loom and yarn
Set up the warp threads vertically across the loom and wind the weft yarn onto shuttles or bobbins.
Step 2: Weave the fabric
Pass the weft yarn over and under the warp threads to create the desired pattern and design until the entire piece of fabric is woven.
Step 3: Finish the textile
Remove the fabric from the loom and add any additional decorative touches. Depending on the type of textile, this may also involve steaming, washing, or other treatments to set the fibers and improve the overall appearance of the fabric.

Made with Sustainable Materials
Recycled Cotton
